Joel has worked in the financial services industry since 1981. Prior to joining HM Payson in 1995, Joel held a variety of trading, sales and client service positions with Fidelity Investments and Tucker Anthony in Boston, and Fleet Securities in Portland.
Joel enjoys building meaningful relationships and serving as a fiduciary for the firm’s clients. His liberal arts orientation, combined with the rigor of the CFA charter and past work experience provide a useful foundation for his daily duties in research, portfolio management and client service. In speaking and meeting with clients, he brings a commonsense approach to complex matters involving the financial markets and HM Payson’s investment process.
Joel and his wife live Cumberland Center, and have three grown children and two grandchildren. When not in the office he likes to stay active with golf, tennis, hiking and fly fishing while the weather cooperates. To pass the winters he will dust off his guitar and catch up on a few good books. A long list of “bucket list” travel destinations continues to grow.
