Colin P. Greening

Colin Greening brings a unique blend of athletic discipline and business acumen to his role at HM Payson. Originally from St. John’s, Newfoundland, Canada, Colin earned Bachelor of Science from Cornell University in 2010. After graduation, he embarked on a nine-year professional hockey career, playing for the Toronto Maple Leafs and Ottawa Senators organizations. During his NHL career, he played in 300 games and was selected to participate in the NHL Youngstars Game during the 2012 NHL All-Star weekend. He also worked closely with the National Hockey League Players’ Association as a team representative and elected member of the collective bargaining negotiation committee.

After retiring from professional hockey, Colin earned his MBA at Harvard Business School and joined the financial holding company Chenmark Holdings, where he focused on business development, mergers and acquisitions, and financial planning and analysis. His tenure at Chenmark included a 15-month role as Chief Financial Officer for one of its operating companies.

Colin’s diverse experiences have equipped him with valuable skills in strategic planning, financial analysis, and leadership. He is currently a trustee for the NHL/NHLPA Canadian, U.S., and Defined Benefit Pension Plans. At HM Payson, Colin works in the Financial Planning and Investment Groups as a Portfolio Manager, providing clients with guidance on retirement, estate, tax, and insurance planning in service of their financial goals.
